Future astronauts will learn about gravity and its affect on the planets. They’ll use Newton’s Laws of Motion to figure out how to launch a shuttle into space, send it into orbit and then catch up with the International Space Station.
The culminating activity will allow students to discover how NASA scientists launch a deep space probe and increase its speed to reach Jupiter using the principle of Conservation of Momentum.
Class time is approximately 45 minutes.
