The arrival of one of World War II’s most well-known bombers, the B-17, will give visitors to the Air Zoo the opportunity to view this important aircraft.
On July 23-26, the Yankee Air Museum’s B-17G “Yankee Lady” will be available for viewing at the Air Zoo’s East Campus airport ramp.
The Boeing B-17, nicknamed the “Flying Fortress”, was a long range heavy bomber that was given the task of destroying enemy war facilities through precision strategic bombardment. There are only a handful of airworthy B-17s in the United States.
