Air Zoo to hold volunteer fair

KALAMAZOO, Mich.-Those looking for volunteer opportunities need look no further as the Air Zoo will host a volunteer fair May 17 from noon until 4 p.m.
Current Air Zoo volunteers and employees will be on-hand to answer questions and provide information about the museum's volunteer program. Application packets will be available to those interested in becoming a volunteer. More than 15 other local organizations such as the Gilmore Car Museum, Binder Park Zoo and the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts will also be at the Air Zoo to promote their volunteer programs.
Air Zoo volunteer opportunities include:
- Discovery station assistants
- Docents
- Greeter
- Information desk specialist
- Phone receptionist
- Retail specialist
- Summer camp assistants
- Survey taker
Air Zoo volunteers receive free admission for themselves and immediate family members, discounts at the Fly Buy museum store, discounts at Kitty Hawk Cafe and a monthly newsletter.

The Air Zoo is a nonprofit organization located at 6151 Portage Road in Portage, Mich. It is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and offers a restaurant, gift shop and banquet facilities. General admission is free. Unlimited rides and attractions may be purchased with a wristband package or can be purchased individually with tickets.
