Air Zoo Blasts Off with Holiday Rocket Clinics

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Air Zoo is offering Holiday Rocket Clinics filled with fun hands-on science experiences for kids on Dec. 27, Dec. 28, Jan. 3 and Jan. 4.
During each clinic, participants will build and launch their own model rockets, while learning about the history of rockets and space exploration. Participants will also tour the Space: Dare to Dream exhibit and participate in a scavenger hunt.
The clinics will take place from 1-5 p.m. and are limited to 40 participants for each date. The cost for each clinic is $50, which includes a rocket kit, launch supplies, instruction, a beverage, a snack and an $8 Co-Pilot wristband package for each participant. Each child is allowed one adult chaperone who will also receive an $8 Co-Pilot wristband package.

The Air Zoo is a nonprofit organization located at 6151 Portage Rd. in Portage, Mich. It is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and offers a restaurant, gift shop, and banquet facilities. General admission is $8 per person. Unlimited rides and attractions may be purchased with a wristband package (Ultimate Ace-$15, Junior Flyer-$12, Co-Pilot-$8), which includes general admission, or tickets can be purchased individually for rides. Children who are 4 years old or younger are free.
