Air Zoo to Offer Spring Break Camps and Workshops
Workshops to Feature Emmy-Award Winning Artist Mark Kistler

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Kids looking for a spring break full of fun need look no further! The Air Zoo is offering spring break camps and workshops for kids of all ages!
3-D Art in Flight Workshop
$45 per child
Mark Kistler will guide kids through an extraordinary imagination adventure where they'll learn how to draw in 3-D. Over the past three decades, Kistler has taught millions of children how to draw in 3-D at more than 7,000 school assembly workshops and camps around the world, including Australia, Germany, England, Scotland, Mexico, and the United States. Kistler's Emmy-award winning public television series, Mark Kistler's Imagination Station, has aired on more than 150 public television stations nationwide.
Each child will receive a beverage, snack, and Ultimate Ace wristband package to enjoy the Air Zoo's rides and attractions the rest of the day. Children must be accompanied by a responsible chaperone, who will receive a complimentary Co-Pilot wristband package. The 3-D Art in Flight Workshop is made possible by the Tyler Little Family Foundation.
Shoot for the Stars Half-Day Camp
April 3 or 5 from 1-4 p.m.
$50 per camper
Kids will uncover the mystery and science behind rockets during the half-day camp! They'll learn about rockets and space exploration while building and launching their very own model rocket. Campers will also partake in a scavenger hunt around the Air Zoo and tour the Space: Dare to Dream exhibit.
The half-day camp includes a model rocket (with an engine and igniter), a beverage, snack and an Ultimate Ace wristband package for each child. Children who are 8 years old and younger must be accompanied by a responsible chaperone. Chaperones will receive a complimentary Co-Pilot wristband package.
Shoot for the Stars Full-Day Camp
April 3 or 5 from 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m.
$75 per camper
Campers will journey through the history of rockets and space exploration during this day-long adventure! They'll build and launch their very own model rockets while learning all about their components and how they fly. Campers will also build and launch soda straw and Alka-Seltzer rockets, in addition to exploring the Space: Dare to Dream exhibit. The day is complete with an exciting scavenger hunt around the Air Zoo and free time to enjoy its attractions.

The Air Zoo is a nonprofit organization located at 6151 Portage Rd. in Portage, Mich. It is an affiliate of the Smithsonian Institution and offers a restaurant, gift shop, and banquet facilities. General admission is $10 per person. Unlimited rides and attractions may be purchased with an Ultimate Ace Wristband Package ($16.50), which includes general admission, or tickets can be purchased individually for rides. Children who are 4 years old or younger are free.
