Air Zoo adds value packages for 2010
January 1, 2010
While continuing to offer free general admission, the Air Zoo will be adding additional value packages for its experiences beginning January 4, 2010.
Experience packages will be based on height and will begin at $6.95 for a Co-Pilot Package and will include packages up to the best value $12.95 Ultimate Ace Package. Guests will also be able to continue to purchase individual tickets for the experiences. In addition, children 2 and younger will receive their own wristband and can ride on some of the Air Zoo's age-and-height-appropriate experiences with an adult purchase of tickets or a wristband.
"The positive response from our visitors and the community has been overwhelming," says Debra Mixis, deputy director at the Air Zoo, "And our surveys indicate that they appreciate the free general admission and would like us to continue to make the collection and exhibits accessible to everyone."
During 2009, the Air Zoo saw more than 205,000 total visitors compared to 102,114 total visitors in 2008 (final 2009 numbers are still being calculated). This past year saw visitors from all 50 states and many foreign countries.
This year, the Air Zoo will be putting many new ideas into place, including discovery stations that will be located throughout the exhibit floor.
In February and March, the Air Zoo will be offering Open Cockpit weekends that will give visitors a different view of some aircraft... from inside the cockpit. Weekends in February will feature our Wildcat, Hellcat and Corsair and the weekends in March will feature our P-47 Thunderbolt, B-25 Mitchell and P-39 Airacobra.
