From satellites to flying bugs and asphalt cookies, the topics of the Air Zoo’s new Super Science Saturdays will delight kids and parents of all ages.
Beginning on Saturday, January 26, the Air Zoo will be holding monthly themed activities that will make science, math and the laws of nature more fun. Though geared for children of all ages (and their parents), Super Science Saturdays are targeted specifically toward upper elementary to middle school students.
February 23: Ancient Science – Think the ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans didn’t know about science? Think again! Fun hands-on activities will teach us how many of the things that we use every day were developed by our ancient ancestors.
March 29: A Science Symphony – Learn about the science behind sound and music. Using ordinary household materials, you can make your own musical instruments and perhaps play a symphony of your own!
April 26: Birds, Bats & Bugs: The Natural Flyers – Join the Air Zoo for its second annual exploration of the world of natural flight. Displays and special presentations will bring the natural world to you, so you can see how birds fly, bats swoop and bugs buzz on by. There will be lots of activities and live “critters” to captivate every member of the family.
