The Air Zoo works extensively with all levels of Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, offering the best scout programming in West Michigan! With classes spanning the spectrum of science and aviation, the Air Zoo offers multiple opportunities for scouts to earn awards and fulfill badge requirements. While we have a variety of special events and classes scheduled throughout the year, we also offer scouting organizations customized events and experiences! Girl Scouts Day

Daisy Scouts:

February 7, 2015 Daisy Scout Splatter Science Day
9:30 - 12:00 - Limit 40 (If capacity is reached, second afternoon program can be added)
Come join us for some sloppy, scientific fun! Scouts will observe the properties of solids, liquids, and gases while participating in messy, interactive activities like creating slippery slime and shooting elephant toothpaste. Air Zoo Fun Patch included.

Daisies will earn the "Science is Fun" fun patch.

Pre-registration is required by Feb. 02, 2015.
$8 per scout for early bird registration, must be received before January 28, 2015 $10 per scout, after.

Earn Your Wings summer camp

Brownie Girl Scouts:

December 13, 2014 W0W! Wonders of Water Journey Brownie Girl Scouts
9:30 - 3:00 - Limit 40
Girls will learn about the endless water cycle and make commitments to conserve water resources. Using a 5 foot stream table model scouts will use problem-solving skills to explore the natural properties of water movement, and see how human activity can change the landscape.

They'll work as a team toward earning the "Love Water" and "Save Water" awards within the W0W! Wonders of Water Journey included in "It's Your Planet-Love It!". Air Zoo Fun Patch included.

Pre-registration is required by Dec. 8, 2014.
$12 per scout for early bird registration, must be received by December 3, 2014 $15 per scout, after.

Junior Girl Scouts:

0ctober 25, 2014 Junior Girl Scouts Jr. Detective Day

Practice your powers of observation, learn about fingerprinting, use microscopes to identify trace evidence while following detective protocol, and solve a mystery at the museum. Air Zoo Fun Patch included.

Scouts complete Detective Junior Investigation badge part of the "It's Your Planet-Love It!" Journey.

January 24, 2015 Tracking Tigers Scout Day 4-5th Grade Junior Girl Scouts
9:30 - 3:00 - Limit 40
Scouts learn about the wild animals found within range of a family of endangered Bengal tigers in India. Predator/prey relationships, survival skills, and conservation of natural resources will be emphasized in this versatile program. Young scientists will also construct a bird feeder or bird house, and make plaster paw prints that will be taken home. A certified biologist guides students through the Air Zoo's new, ~TIGERS: Tracking a Legend", which engages their sense of sight, sound, touch, and smell. Interactive exhibits Talk Like a Tiger, Muscles in Motion and Canine Bite Force highlight the physiology, behavior and daily lives of these powerful predators. Experience the Digital Climbing Wall challenge that uses sensory Indian wildlife sounds, and moving lights to simulate a hunt or other cooperative games. Air Zoo Fun Patch included. May 23, 2015 Astrogirls (Air Zoo Council's 0wn) Girl Scout Day

Spend the day at the Air Zoo while completing all of the requirements for the Girl Scout Council's 0wn, ~Astrogirls Badge", that is exclusive to the Air Zoo. Junior scouts investigate various space-related careers, explore the history of the space program, design their own space-suit, and build and launch their own model rocket! Model Rocket and Astrogirls Patch included.

Pre-registration is required by May 16, 2015.
$22 per scout early bird registration, must be received by May 08, 2015 $25 per scout after.

Boy Scouts will complete all the requirements for the Aviation Merit Badge during this fun and engaging day of exploring the history and science behind flight! Discuss the forces of flight and the control surfaces of an airplane while touring the Air Zoo's amazing collection of aircraft and specialized wind tunnel! Air Zoo Fun Patch included.
