These highly interactive and engaging education programs can be presented at the
Air Zoo during a field trip or in your own classroom. Great for both traditional and home-schooled students!
Come Fly with Me
Preschool-3rd grade (new grade level)
During this hands-on program, students will craft a variety of simple flying machines while gaining an understanding of the natural and man-made forces that make flight possible.
All About Astronauts
3rd-8th grade (new grade level)
For those who are interested in learning about what it takes to become an astronaut, this is the program for you! Experience what it takes to become an astronaut, how an astronaut lives, what they eat, what they wear and what their objectives are!
Hands-On Aviation
3rd-8th grade
Engage in activities that explore the four aerodynamic principles of flight and discover a few basic aircraft design techniques that assist in controlling a variety of aircraft in flight.
Space, the Next Frontier
5th-8th grade
Have a great time applying Newton's Laws to space by forming hypotheses, experimenting with your ideas and sharing your observations.
Living in Zero-G New!
5th-8th grade
What's it like to experience zero gravity? Have a blast while exploring the gravity of space and how we use the Earth's rotational energy to orbit spacecraft. Go topsy-turvy with interactive activities that guide you through the Law of Conservation of Angular Momentum and how gyroscopes are used to maintain orientation in space.
To Space and Back New!
5th-8th grade
Discover the International Space Station and what life is like aboard this facility. Learn about the cooperation between 14 different nations to create the largest artificial satellite in the Earth's orbit!
Are We There Yet? New!
5th-8th grade
Discover the difference between Magnetic North and True North in this program which outlines how mathematics are used in navigating the globe. Students will create a compass rose, learn about the designations of airport runways, locate points on a Mercator Map of the Earth using longitude and latitude, and discuss navigational aids such as radio beacons and GPS.
Living History New!
8th-12th grade
Experience the history of World War I through an informative and moving photograph presentation while you learn about past battles and triumphs, both on the military field and in a soldier's life. You will also interact with artifacts from a different era and reflect on inventions of that time and how they have had a major impact on our lives today. Our program instructors will give personal analogies to illustrate both historical and contemporary experiences in a unique multi-sensory lesson.
