The Air Zoo in Portage, MI, and presenting sponsor Western Michigan University, are pleased to announce the fourth-annual Science Innovation Hall of Fame Awards Gala & Dinner, which will take place on Saturday, May 13th, 2017. This festive and interactive evening is focused on recognizing southwest Michigan high school students and K-12 level educators who have innovated and excelled within the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) and on honoring the newest enshrinees of the Michigan Aviation Hall of Fame. Each spring, the Air Zoo presents the Science Innovation Hall of Fame Awards at a highly-publicized and interactive gala that draws notable Michigan luminaries from all areas of industry, education, government, and the arts.

The Awards Gala includes the opportunity to win amazing silent auction items, including biplane flights, valuable original artwork, event tickets & passes and much, much more!

Dinner Menu (offered by the Millennium Restaurant Group):
Slow Roasted Strip Loin Medallions* - Coffee and cocoa rubbed, prepared medium rare with a merlot demi-glaze

Tuscan Chicken* - Seared in olive oil, topped with prosciutto ham, provolone cheese, and oven roasted tomato slices, served with Asiago cream sauce

Grilled Vegetable & Goat Cheese Wellington - Marinated grilled zucchini, squash, bell pepper, red onion, and portobello rolled in savory puff pastry with goats cheese, served with a classic tomato basil sauce

Student Excellence Award - $500 Financial Award

- The Student Excellence Award honors high school students who excel in the studies of science while also seeking to expand their knowledge and leadership skills outside of the classroom.

Student Art & Science Award - $500 Financial Award

- The Student Art & Science Award recognizes a high school student who exemplifies the special harmony between arts and sciences.

Educator Excellence Award - $750 Financial Award

- The Educator Excellence Award recognizes excellence and innovation in the teaching of STEAM subjects, the fostering of deep and meaningful student learning, and generation of exceptional student achievement.
