Position Title: Marketing Assistant

Supervisor: Director of Marketing
Status: Full-time. Exempt

The Opportunity:

What we are looking for:

  • Excellent grasp of social media and website metrics, best practices and administration knowledge of social media platforms, with high proficiency in Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Hootsuite
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to think strategically and operate effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Degree, or equivalent, in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or Marketing with at least 2 years of experience
  • Strong graphic design skills
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud products including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop (Premiere Pro is a plus)

Position Title: Education Manager

Supervisor: Director of Experience & Education
Status: Full-time. Exempt

The Opportunity:

The Air Zoo is looking for a motivated, organized, and innovated individual to join their team as the Education Manager. This position will collaboratively lead the education department in the creation and implementation of comprehensive educational programs, work strategically to expand and diversify the Museum’s reach, while developing & nurturing key relationships/partnerships at the local, state, and national level.

Key responsibilities include developing and delivering the museums educational propositions to community stakeholders; creating and delivering hands-on educational and learning programs to guest of all ages and throughout the community; and providing strategic thought and action across an array of museum activities.

What we are looking for:

  • 5+ years of professional experience successfully developing and delivering education programs.
  • 3+ years successfully managing a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a STEAM-related field or Education preferred.
  • Understanding of nonprofit environment, particularly with an education focus preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills with the ability to engage, inspire, and influence a broad array of community leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and nurture partnerships to the benefit of all stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and educate diverse audiences.

Part-Time Positions

Position Title: Operations & Exhibit Technician

Supervisor: FIC/FDC Building and Operations Manager
Status: Part-time; non-exempt

Position Objectives:

Do you like working with your hands? Do you want a part-time job? Are you looking for a varying schedule that includes nights, weekends, and some holidays? Do you love planes?  If you answer yes to these questions working part time at the Air Zoo might be perfect for you.  This job works under the supervision and support of the Flight Innovation Center and Flight Discovery Center Building and Operations Manager, participates in the custodial, mechanical, electrical, and technical maintenance of the Museum’s attractions, experiences, exhibits, buildings, and grounds to ensure an exceptional experience for customers, staff, and volunteers. This includes making sure the “Show” portion of our facilities, exhibits and attractions are presented at the highest level of Wow!

What we are looking for:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience with custodial, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting strongly desired.
  • Hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic technical programming desired but not required.
  • Knowledge of Windows and Apple based operating systems and software desired.
  • Sensitivity to the safety and security procedures necessary to protect personnel, customer, public and private property..
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations with the capability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Ability to interact with the public in a positive and enthusiastic manner with a full understanding of the Museum’s customer service philosophy and procedures.
  • Superior interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to take on concurrent tasks and work in an environment where interruptions are common.
  • Well-groomed appearance and compliance with the Museum’s dress and personal appearance policies.
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot problems and skillfully perform routine repairs.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk or climb stairs/ladders for an extended period.
  • Will require heavy lifting up to and exceeding 50 pounds.
  • Will require ability to pull, push, carry, grasp, reach, stoop, crawl and crouch.
  • Good eye, hand, feet coordination and motor coordination skills.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Position Title: Part-time Educator

Supervisor: Education Manager
Status: Part-time; non-exempt

Position Objectives:

The part-time educator is responsible for delivering exciting, high-quality educational programs to schools, families, and adult groups. This position offers a unique opportunity to practice a wide range of skills, lead innovative, interdisciplinary activities, and connect people of all ages to the STEAM disciplines while delivering educational programs for the Air Zoo. The part-time educator is an energetic, dependable, individual who likes working with people and inspiring others to learn about science and is instrumental in strengthening guests’ awareness and appreciation of the Air Zoo. 

What we are looking for:

  • Ability to come to work as scheduled and on time
  • Flexible scheduling (including weekends, evenings, and holiday’s)
  • Experience with STEAM learning
  • Experience Leading a classroom
  • Someone who is passionate and innovative in the field of Education

Position Title: Guest Experience Ambassador

Supervisor: Guest Experience Manager
Status: Part-time; non-exempt

Position Objectives:
The Guest Experience Ambassador (GEA) position has direct contact with our Guests. They set the stage and atmosphere for our Guests visits. Ride Operator GEA staff are responsible for safely operating all of the Air Zoo attractions while ensuring our Guests have the best experience possible during their visit.  Point of Sale GEA staff process admission tickets and membership sales, answer phones, work in retail, and assist our Guests. Safety, customer service, professionalism and accuracy are the priority.

What we are looking for:

  • Ability to come to work as scheduled and on time.
  • Availability that is consistent from week to week including weekend days (can be adjusted by semester)
  • Availability to work some evenings, including weekends (premium pay)
  • Availability to work on holidays (premium pay)
  • Ability to engage customers by smiling, talking and helping people to have fun
  • Ability to learn about the Air Zoo so you can share that excitement with our guests
