Full-Time Positions

Position Title: Marketing & Communications Manager

Supervisor: Director of Marketing & Development

Status: Exempt (Salary); Full Time -eligible for full benefits

Position Summary: This person is the glue that holds it all together, the catalyst who takes it to the next level and the bearer of the brand. A keen understanding of advertising, audience, and analytics is a must. As a nationally-recognized and Smithsonian-affiliated aerospace and science center, the Air Zoo is an industry leader in STEAM education programming, immersive exhibits, one-of-a-kind artifacts, and out-of-this-world experiences. If you are our next Marketing & Communications Manager, you will be a well-organized, effective, results-driven, project manager who can seamlessly work with and lead others. You must also have exceptional interpersonal communication and writing skills.

What we are looking for:

  • Business Marketing or Communications degree (or directly related degree) or equivalent years of direct experience with high school diploma or equivalent is required
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or management experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years of marketing experience required; 5 years or more of marketing experience preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience managing print, digital, broadcast, and outdoor advertising campaigns
  • Audience targeted campaign experience preferred
  • Excellent copywriting and proofreading skills
  • Detail oriented and analytical

Part-Time Positions

Talent Coordinator

Supervisor: Director of Talent & Human Resources
Status: 
Non-Exempt (Hourly); Part Time (22-28 hours per week)
Position Summary:
Coordinate and encourage the most valuable resources for the Air Zoo: its People! This includes volunteers, part time employees, full time employees, and seasonal employees, as well as guests.

What we are looking for:

  • Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in nonprofit management, business, human resources, human services, or related subject plus 1 year experience in human resources or volunteer engagement OR high school diploma/GED with 2 years of experience in human resources or volunteer engagement is required
  • Strong knowledge of and experience with Outlook, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint
  • Experience with PayCor helpful but not required
  • Experience with Better Impact helpful but not required
  • Strong skills in detailed reporting with confidential information (1 year minimum)
  • Experience being part of a team in a business or nonprofit setting (1 year minimum)

Position Title: Guest Experience Ambassador

Supervisor: Guest Experience Manager
Status:
Part-time; non-exempt

Position Objectives:
Do you love to meet new people and work as a team? Do you like aircraft, space, science and/or learning about our world? Do you want a job where you can smile and make someone’s day? If you answered yes to these questions, then submit your resume to us! The Guest Experience Ambassador (GEA) position sets the stage and atmosphere for our Guests’ visits. Ride Operator GEA staff are responsible for safely operating all the Air Zoo attractions while ensuring our Guests have the best experience possible during their visit. Point-of-Sale GEA staff process admission tickets and membership sales, answer phones, and assist our Guests. Safety, customer service, professionalism, and accuracy are the priority and helping others have a wonderful experience is part of the reward.

What we are looking for:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Customer service experience
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Ability to interact with the public in a positive and enthusiastic manner
  • Superior interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships at all levels
