KALAMAZOO, Mich. - Is it a car? Is it an aircraft? It's both! On May 25 and in the beginning of June, the Air Zoo will unveil its newest additions-the Milner AirCar and the ElectriCar, respectively.

The AirCar and ElectriCar are first-generation vehicle prototypes built by Milner Motors. The AirCar is a four-door, four-seat flying car that has a foldable main wing on the back of the vehicle and a canard in the front. The ElectriCar is a plug-in hybrid electric car that is designed to be environmentally friendly and energy efficient.

"The AirCar and ElectriCar are Air Zoo firsts-we've never displayed anything like these vehicles before, so when we heard of the opportunity to have them, we jumped at it," said Bob Ellis, Air Zoo president and CEO. "We're always looking for ways to create new and exciting experiences for our guests."

The AirCar features modern instrumentation with flat panel displays for both air and ground mode. It can reach a cruising speed of 200 mph for up to 1,000 miles in the air. The AirCar is expected to cost $450,000.

The ElectriCar includes a modern gasoline/electric hybrid power train, computer controlled systems and lightweight battery packs. It can operate for two hours using batteries and has an onboard gasoline engine that turns on automatically for trips outside the electric range.
