Portage, MI, August 21, 2019 – The Air Zoo is excited to release details surrounding the highly anticipated SR-71 Spy-Posium events being held October 4-6 at the Flight Innovation Center, their Portage Rd. location. For the first time ever, the Air Zoo is opening the cockpits to the world’s only remaining SR-71B Blackbird for public viewing! Get first-hand accounts of what makes the Blackbird tick - straight from the mouths of former SR-71 pilots and crew members. Learn exciting facts about the spyplane that has captured high-resolution images from over 80,000 feet and flown more than three times the speed of sound. Listen to engaging panel discussions, participate in the informative Q&A sessions, and check out specially displayed Blackbird artifacts from our collection! The Air Zoo is pleased to announce the tickets to their special evening event and fundraiser, aptly named Blackbird Affair, will officially go on sale Friday, August 23, 2019 at 10am EST. The event will be held on Saturday, October 5th from 5:30-10pm. Only 200 tickets will be made available for purchase. 50 tickets will be sold for $250 and will guarantee a seat in, and a personal tour of, one of the two cockpits. The remaining 150 tickets will be sold for $100 each and these attendees will have the opportunity to win a seat in a cockpit as well, through several raffle drawings to be held that evening. Raffle tickets will be sold for $20 each. All attendees will enjoy hearty appetizers, private tours of the aircraft and the option to mingle and interact with the former crew members. The morning will consist of special panel discussions for registered school groups.

This is a private, ticketed event. Tickets will go on sale, Friday, August 23rd at 10am.
Plan to reserve seat(s) Friday August 23rd at 10am for an incredible opportunity to get up close and personal with the Air Zoo’s SR-71 Blackbird as well as a dozen former SR-71 crew members that have fascinating stories and fun facts to share. The evening will include hearty appetizers, a cash bar and focused breakout sessions with our plane's former crew members. Some lucky attendees will also have the chance to sit in one of the cockpits! Get up close and personal with the world’s fastest plane! Tickets for the evening are $250 to secure a seat in the SR-71 (limited to 50 people) or $100 for general admission with the opportunity to win a seat in the Blackbird.
