Air Zoo Responds to COVID-19 Spread

As the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation is rapidly evolving, the Air Zoo is closely monitoring the situation, regionally, nationally and globally, and is taking precautionary steps to mitigate the likeliness of rapid spread throughout the surrounding communities.

Currently the center is focusing efforts on conveying the importance of proper handwashing practices, utilization of hand sanitization stations throughout the buildings, the addition of extra trash receptacles, encouraging staff and volunteers feeling ill to stay home, increased frequency and rigor of cleaning and disinfecting hard surfaces, and with the temporary removal of several of the science center’s hands-on-exhibits and learning stations.

Events currently scheduled at the Air Zoo are being reviewed and discussed at the leadership level. Some large community events may be postponed until the threat has diminished, in efforts to keep museum guests and Air Zoo staff and volunteers safe. Any persons with questions regarding programming changes or currently scheduled events should contact the Air Zoo’s Group & Events Department for further information.

Currently, there are no plans to close the Air Zoo to the public. However, temporary closure will remain a topic of conversation as news develops. Please keep your eyes here for future announcements.
