The Collections staff and volunteers have been working hard on the Guadalcanal Campaign Collection. Our volunteers just finished up inventorying and taking photographs of the 3D objects in the Guadalcanal Campaign collection. We will be working on changing some of the display cases in the Guadalcanal Campaign exhibit. We also recently received a fabulous collection from the family of Charles A. Buser, who was a Marine who fought on Guadalcanal and featured in the Guadalcanal Exhibit. (Photo is in the file of where the Guadalcanal Collection is stored)
The Collections and Library is moving to a new software system. We are hoping by the middle of next year we will be able to start making our collection available for online viewing. (if you do not have enough room, you can remove this)
The library is going be open more starting in January. It will be opened Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays. Hours will be posted on the door. If you are looking to volunteer in the library, we have Wednesday, Saturdays and Sundays available.
