(June - September) - With amazing experiences like Bi-Plane rides with Waldo Wright's Flying Service, airplane flights, kids summer camps & classes, incredible museum exhibits, amusement park rides, and flight simulators, the Air Zoo in Kalamazoo and Portage Michigan is your one stop spot for family fun this summer!
  • Amelia Earhart Play - We are excited to debut Kathryn Schultz Miller’s one-act play, featuring 12 local high school students, in the Air Zoo’s Missions Theater. This production, Amelia Earhart: A Play for Young Audiences, will run July 12-14. There will be 5 live performances and seating is limited and on-site reservations are encouraged.

Camps & Classes - The Air Zoo Aerospace & Science Museum in Kalamazoo offers the best Science classes, day camps, field trips, educational outreach, and scouting programs in West Michigan. Based in Kalamazoo and Portage, with a focus on Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEM), the Air Zoo truly has something for everyone. Scholarships are available.

    • Scholarships - The Air Zoo Aerospace & Science Center in Kalamazoo, West Michigan, is dedicated to connecting students with science and technology through positive, engaging, and immersive experiences that align with educational standards and inspire exciting career choices and pathways. Supported in part by the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation and individual donors, the Science Inspiration Fund was developed to break down the economic barriers that greatly inhibit many schools, community organizations, and youth groups from taking an active part in Air Zoo�s exceptional educational programming,classes, and field trips.
    • Homeschool Discovery Days - The Air Zoo provides Homeschool Discovery Days to help homeschoolers supplement their curriculum and provide learning experiences to their students in a variety of disciplines.
    • Air Zoo Science Innovation Hall of Fame Awards for Local Educators and Students - The Air Zoo in Portage, MI holds the annual West Michigan Science Innovation Hall of Fame Awards which are focused on recognizing and further encouraging southwest Michigan high school students, K-12 level educators & teachers, and local organizations & individuals who have innovated and excelled within, or shown exceptional support of, education in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM). Each spring, the Air Zoo will present the Science Innovation Hall of Fame Awards at a highly-publicized and interactive gala that will draw notable Michigan luminaries from all areas of industry, education, government, and the arts.

  • FREE Educator Preview Night! - The Air Zoo offers a wide variety of science camps, classes, field trips, and science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (S.T.E.M.) based education programs and field trips to students in west Michigan. Located near Kalamazoo, the Air Zoo is Michigan's best museum for educational experiences, and offers Educators and Administrators Free admission to preview these programs October 15th, 2014.
